What to Expect: Wedding Day Garment Care
Your wedding morning should feel calm, exciting, and fully present, not stressful over wrinkles, mystery stains, or fashion emergencies in a cramped hotel bathroom.
This guide walks you through exactly what to expect when working with Missouri Gown Preservation for wedding day garment care services.
Before the Wedding Day
Here’s what to expect leading up to your wedding day so everything is smooth and stress-free.
You're Booked!
After you've filled out our service inquiry form, we’ll confirm details, send an invoice, and temporarily hold your spot for 7 days.
Once your deposit is paid, you’ll receive an appointment booking confirming your date and time is officially reserved on our calendar.
2 Weeks Before
Your final invoice will be due.
If you have any changes to your plans, timeline, garment quantities, or locations, simply send us a text at 636-299-0731 before completing payment.
We know wedding plans can shift, and we’re happy to adjust things when possible.
1 Week Before
We’ll send a reminder text confirming all the details we’ve previously discussed, including:
-
getting ready location(s)
-
parking and access info
-
timeline details
-
garments counts
At this point, we’ll make sure everything is finalized so your wedding morning can run as smoothly as possible.

We’ve Thought of Everything!
We bring everything needed for a smooth and successful wedding morning, including:
-
commercial steamers
-
distilled water
-
dryers to help prevent water spotting
-
extension cords
-
hanging hooks and clips for every situation
-
labels and pins to keep everyone's items organized
-
emergency sewing supplies and notions
-
stain removal tools and tricks
-
fashion emergency essentials like safety pins, fashion tape, extra buttons, and more
-
and plenty of “just in case” supplies
We’ve seen a lot of wedding mornings, and we know it’s often the little things that make the biggest difference.
Our goal is to create a calm, organized environment so you can stay present, enjoy the moment, and fully soak in your wedding morning.
On the Wedding Day
Before arrival:
We’ll text your designated contact to let them know we’re on the way.
All you need to do is have the garments collected in one spot. If you have special hangers you’d like used, just have them nearby.
We’ll take care of the rest. That includes:
-
unbagging garments
-
hanging dresses
-
labeling everything (and yes, we bring the labels)
-
removing tags
-
checking garments over for general condition, stains, or minor repairs
Once we arrive:
We’ll walk the space and determine the best setup location while keeping in mind:
-
where hair and makeup are happening
-
sturdy hanging locations
-
outlet access
-
lighting
-
keeping gowns safely out of traffic and away from certain eyes
Then we get to work steaming!
When steaming is finished:
All garments are hung high to prevent new wrinkles from forming. Bags are folded and set aside, trash is discarded, and accessories are organized neatly nearby.
Before we leave or transition into dressing support (if selected in your wedding morning package), we’ll invite you to see everything fully finished and photo-ready.
And honestly? Seeing brides see their dress fully steamed for the first time is one of our favorite parts!
A Note About Wrinkles
Our goal is beautifully prepared, event-ready garments. That said, some fabrics naturally relax or lightly crease throughout wear and movement, especially:
-
satin
-
mikado
-
fitted silhouettes
-
structured skirts
-
garments transported or sat in after steaming
Emergency Stain Support
Minor day-of stain treatment is included whenever possible.
While many small spots and spills can be improved onsite, not every stain can be fully removed depending on timing and fabric type.
The sooner we know about an issue, the better chance we have of minimizing it.
Bridal Dressing
If dressing assistance is included in your package, we’ll help with:
-
gown handling for photography and videography
-
getting you fully dressed comfortably and correctly
-
waist stays, closures, and foundational layers
-
veil placement
-
train styling and fluffing
-
final lint and wrinkle checks
-
light touch-ups before portraits
-
teaching your bridal party how to manage the train and bustle
-
assist the wedding party with fashion emergencies and boutineers
We’ll also encourage you to pause for a few quiet moments before getting dressed. Wedding mornings move fast as soon as the dress goes on, and sometimes a quick refresh, deodorant touch-up, deep breath, or sip of water makes all the difference.
And if aisle assistance is included, we’ll be there to carry your train and veil, perfectly fluff everything into place, and send you down the aisle ready for your moment.
